Late Night Rumblings

How I wish that you’d stop with the snoring.
You sound like a tree being felled.
How on earth can you sleep through such roaring,
With me trapped in this juggernaut hell?
There are dead flies performing a hand jive,
Tyrannosaur rings in the mugs,
The alarm clock’s just taken a nosedive
And the spiders have put in earplugs.
Every ‘grnt’, every ‘snrgh’, every ‘snucker-snk-sno’
Sets my teeth in a tightening clench.
I can hear you downstairs on the sofa, you know?
At this rate I’ll end up on a bench.
