It’s raining outside so the plebs are indoors.
The cats are all fed and the house full of snores.
The arts and crafts clock on the fireplace’s struck
Off the hour with a comfortable, arrogant look.
I’ve a full mug of coffee, a fat backy pouch,
And a hole in my sock where one toe’s looking out.
The seagull’s been fed and the bills have been paid.
There’s a Doctor Who DVD ready to play.
The simplest hours can sometimes be bliss.
Could it possibly get any better than this?
