Death at Lunchtime

death at lunchtime

I didn’t sleep again last night.
I should have had my tablets but,
For reasons that I can’t recall,
I didn’t. Now my brain has shut
Down in the middle of the day.
I’ve got that sinking sense of dread
That comes of being wide-awake
When mentally I’m all but dead.
