The incessant, slow drip of your cheerful malice
Has bored a deep hole through my skull.
Drumming its heartbeat, inanely persistent,
It’s all so unpleasantly dull.
Like Christmas in summer, or wine in the morning,
Your smile on a stick starts to pucker.
It’s as shallow and vapid as Hyacinth Bucket
To a mind that prefers Malcolm Tucker.
And you think you’re so clever and wise and untainted,
But can’t see when enough is enough.
Note this twitch of a smile at the edge of my lips.
It’s a warning you’d better sod off.

Ha, this reminds me of my daughter when she’s grumpy – if you make her smile or laugh she gets even madder because she’s grumpy and she wants to stay grumpy!! (Poor child, she takes after me, I was just the same)

Whoa! I can really relate to this! I have an erstwhile friend who is a master of cheerful malice. Passive aggression.

I’ve decided not to put up with it anymore. I’m sick of hearing “I’m only joking!” Sneaky buggers!

You should write a book called “The Unhappiness Project”. I think it would be marketable.

My market would be too depressed to buy it.

Great rhyme and particularly great illustration dear B. It has made me really want to witness a meeting of Hyacinth and Malcolm. oh yes.
“… and room for a pony … ” we know what MT would tell her about that pony.
love from down here in The Colonies.

There is a rumour going about that Peter Capaldi is about to take over as Doctor Who. I hope he does. That’d be most amusing.
